FFmpeg developers officially announces the release of FFmpeg 2.5.2 "Bohr" with minor changes and bugfixes. This is the latest stable release under 2.5.x series. Among lot of other changes, it includes all changes from ffmpeg-mt, libav master of 2014-12-03 and libav 11 as of 2014-12-03.

According to official announcement, FFmpeg 2.5.2 "Bohr" comes with updated library version such as libavutil 54.15.100, libavcodec 56.13.100, libavformat 56.15.102, libavdevice 56.3.100, libavfilter 5.2.103, libavresample 2.1.0, libswscale 3.1.101, libswresample 1.1.100 and libpostproc 53.3.100. You can also download the source tarball of FFmpeg 2.5.2 "Bohr" to compile it on your machine.

FFmpeg developers officially announces the release of FFmpeg 2.5.1 codenamed "Bohr" with new and updated packages. Well this is the first update under 2.5.x branch which primarily includes new features like AVFoundation screen-grabbing support, animated WebP decoding support and Animated PNG support. Aart from this, it also includes video streaming support including MPEG-DASH fragmenting muxer, HEVC RTP payload muxer and UDP Lite support.

According to official announcement, FFmpeg 2.5.1 comes with updated library packages such as libavutil 54.15.100, libavcodec 56.13.100, libavformat 56.15.102, libavdevice 56.3.100, libavfilter 5.2.103, libavresample 2.1.0, libswscale 3.1.101, libswresample 1.1.100 and libpostproc 53.3.100. The avpriv_dv_frame_profile2() is also deprecated from API in this release. You can also download the source tarball of FFmpeg 2.5.1 to compile it on your Linux machine.

Among other new changes, FFmpeg 2.5.1 "Bohr" includes -show_pixel_formats option in ffprobe, codec private options support in ffserver, xBR scaling filter in libavfilter, CAST128 symmetric block cipher, ECB mode in libavutil and visualization support in libpostproc. FFmpeg development team officially announces the release of FFmpeg 2.4.2 codename "Fresnel" with new changes and minor bug fixes. As you know that FFmpeg is one of the famous multimedia framework which allows you to decode, encode, transcode, mux, demux, stream and filter video files.

According to official announcement, FFmpeg 2.4.2 comes with lot of changes from ffmpeg-mt, libav master of 2014-09-14, libav 11 as of 2014-10-05. This is the latest and most advanced version under FFmpeg 2.4.x series. This release primarily includes updated packages which include libavutil, libavcodec, libavformat, libavdevice, libavfilter, libavresample, libswresample and libpostproc. The development team also state that they have integrated FFmpeg 2.4.2 "Fresnel" as part of Debian unstable branch again but it is not clear whether the packages will be integrated in to Debian testing in time for Jessie release.
