OpenSUSE 11.4 officially becomes Dead with No Further Active Support
Wolfgang officially announces the end of support for OpenSUSE 11.4 distro. Well the support limit for OpenSUSE 11.4 Evergreen is only valid until July, 2014 but the community decided to extend its support for months more and now they have ended the support for OpenSUSE 11.4.
According to one of the announcement by Wolfgang state that, "While I was hoping that we can keep 11.4 alive for some time longer this is currently not possible from what I would call the "core team" which is Stefan and myself. We are too busy nowadays to be able to scan and patch every issue we get aware of. Thanks to you all who contributed to the success of Evergreen/11.4!". Some of the developers state that the repository still receives updates from package maintainers for those who still wants to work on OpenSUSE 11.4. As you have noticed that the recent releases of patches for the bash and NSS issues are provided for this release but there is no guarantee that every security issue will be fixed.
