How to Install Shutter 0.93 (Screenshot Tool) via PPA on Ubuntu & Linux Mint


Shutter is a popular screenshot application which allows you to take a screenshot of specific area, window, your whole screen or even a website. It is used to capture specific area, desktop, window, menu or tooltip. You can also add text, arrows, rectangles, ellipses, crop and auto-increment shape.

Step Wise Installation of Shutter 0.93 (Screenshot Tool) using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint and other PPA based Linux Distros

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for Shutter 0.93 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:shutter/ppa
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently add PPA for Shutter 0.93 in the software repository on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 3 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest stable Shutter 0.93 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install shutter
After installation, search "Shutter" either in Unity Dash or in Application menu. You can take the screenshots with the help of Shutter app on your system.
