Fedora 22 might receive Pantheon Desktop as default Desktop Environment

Wesley Hearn, developer at Red Hat and Fedora, officially made a proposal for including Pantheon Desktop Environment in upcoming Fedora 22 release. Well the Pantheon Desktop is a slick lightweight open-source GTK3/Vala desktop currently being developed for elementary OS. This new desktop will allows its users to choose between multiple desktop environments available in Fedora's repository and might bring more users to Fedora.

According to official announcement, Wesley Hearn who is working on Pantheon Desktop Environment which is quite similar as of desktop environment of Elementary OS. This new desktop environment is completely written from scratch using Vala and GTK3 toolkit. Comparing its usability and appearance, this new desktop will have some similarities with GNOME Shell and Mac OS X. Also, review recent Linux Distro News to know what's new in them ?

Currently, 5% work has been completed for this new desktop and developers like Wesley Hearn, Christopher Meng and Germano Massullo are working on this desktop, so that it will be introduced in final release of Fedora 22.
