Linux Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" MATE available for Download with Compiz Tool Support

Linux Mint development team officially announces the release of stable Linux Mint 17.1 codenamed "Rebecca" MATE flavor for download and now available for testing purposes. As its name suggest that this contains MATE Destkop as its default Desktop Environment whereas it also available in Cinnamon Desktop flavor too.

According to official announcement, Linux Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" MATE comes with long term support which has active support till 2019. It comes with updated software and also brings refinements which allows its users to make their desktops even more comfortable to use. The main highlighted feature of this release includes support for Compiz program which is quite popular among Linux users.

The Mint 17.1 "Rebecca" MATE offers default two window managers named as: Marco and Compiz tool. Well there are lot of window managers available for Linux Mint but Compiz is one of the famous among Linux users because it offers features which are quite attractive and advanced graphics concepts. The rotating cube desktop view in Compiz make it one of the most impressive tool and differentiate with other available window managers.
