LibreOffice 4.3.5 Suite released with Over 70 Bugfixes & Minor Improvements


The Document Foundation officially announces the release of LibreOffice 4.3.5 with new features, few improvements and several bugfixes. Well you know that this is the fifth minor release under 4.3.x "fresh" branch. This release includes almost over 70 bugfixes. The foundation also suggests to deploy LibreOffice 4.3.5 in enterprise and large organizations when backed by professional support by certified individuals capable of providing value added support.

According to official announcement, LibreOffice 4.3.5 suite comes with minor new features but several bugfixes. Some of the fixes in LibreOffice 4.3.5 against LibreOffice 4.3.4 includes fixed bad conversation of old-style UNO service, fixed SOLARIS-INTEL case, fixed poor performance with find & replace with empty value and fixed crash when open doc file.

Among other bugfixes, LibreOffice 4.3.5 includes Icon in Calc toolbar for wrap text, inherits cell styles in inserting rows/columns, related Forget package URL of image after it is loaded, prevent use of invalidated iterator due to re-entrance, better font selection in Japanese locale on Mac OS X, check that the case works in both update references modes and make sure to check for formula first. How to Install LibreOffice 4.3.1 via PPA on Ubuntu Variants & Linux Mint


LibreOffice is popular office suite which is available for all Linux Distros as well as other platforms. This suite mainly collection of multiple programs like word processing, spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings, maintain databases and compose mathematical formulae.

Step Wise Installation of LibreOffice 4.3.1 using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint and other PPA based Linux Distros

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to remove existing LibreOffice 4.3.1 suite from your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get remove libreoffice*
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for LibreOffice 4.3.1 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added PPA for LibreOffice 4.3.1 in the software repository on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 4 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest LibreOffice 4.3.1 suite on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice
After installation, search for "LibreOffice" and launch it on your system. Verify the version of currently running LibreOffice by going to "Help->About". Now enjoy the new features of LibreOffice 4.3.1 on your machine.
