Matthias Clasen announces release of GNOME 3.14 with New Features


Matthias Clasen, developer at GNOME community, officially announces the release of stable GNOME 3.14 desktop environment with new features and improvements. This desktop release is most awaited from past six months and includes 28,859 changes.

According to official announcement, GNOME 3.14 comes with new animations in activities overview along with new window animations. It provides automatic handling for Wi-Fi hotspots which requires you to login. It supports for browsing Google pictures in Photos. 

Among other updates, GNOME 3.14 includes a redesigned weather application which uses geolocation to show the weather for your current location along with improved touchscreen support with multi-touch gestures for both the system and applications. This latest GNOME 3.14 release also includes major improvements for developers including GTK+ Inspector, the ability to use SVG assets as part of GTK+ themes, improved touchscreen support and major progress towards Wayland.
