KDE Plasma 5.1 released with same Popular Features & Few Improvements

KDE community officially announces the release of KDE Plasma 5.1.0 which is the first release after Plasma 5.0. This release might disappoint its users as it brings some of the popular feature which already exist in previously release Plasma 5.0 version. The KDE developers give their best efforts to fix large number of issues along with other enhancements.

According to official announcement, KDE Plasma 5.1.0 comes with wide variety of improvements, leading to greater stability, better performance and new and improved features. The popular feature which you are going to face in this release includes Icon Tasks taskswitcher along with improved stability and performance.

This release also includes better support for time zones for those who travel a lot whereas for all home users, a revamped clipboard manager is added which allows its users to get their past clipboard's content. The Breeze widget style is now also available for Qt4-based applications, leading to greater consistency across applications. The work to support Wayland as display server for Plasma is still ongoing, with improved, but not complete support in 5.1.

The main highlighted feature of this release is the visual improvements and the work on features. The main objective of this release rely on stability and performance improvements with over 180 bugfixes. To run Plasma 5.1, you need KDE Frameworks 5.3 as it brings lot of fixes and improvements which allows Plasma 5.1 work smoothly.
