Archive Manager, PeaZip 5.5.1 receives "Update Only" Mode for Windows Installer

PeaZip developers officially announces the release of PeaZip 5.5.1 with few changes and improvements in file manager, extraction and archiving, windows installer along with other miscellaneous bugfixes. This release particularly improves identification of supported archive types, known file types which can be handled as archives and adds new "Update Only" mode for Windows Installer.

According to official announcement, the PeaZip for Windows receives support for scanning with Windows Defender. The file manager of PeaZip comes with improved links to online resources. While operating, Pause button is highlighted instead of Stop by default, to prevent unaware click canceling running tasks. It also fixes extract to new folder from application's drag and drop context menu.

The Windows Installer of PeaZip comes with new installation mode in which "Update Only" install new program's files and keeps existing system integration unchanged. The Windows Installer now shows link to Help and FAQ pages. The ISO files are associated to PeaZip by default, to avoid overriding system's defaults unless explicitly requested by user. Apart from this, PeaZip now supports 181 file extensions after addition of Microsoft's .mic language interface pack and .mui multilingual user interface package formats.
