How to Install FFmpeg 2.2.4 "Muybridge" using PPA on Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint

In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install FFmpeg 2.2.4 (Encoder and Decoder) using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, Peer OS and other Debian based Linux Distros.

Step Wise Installation of FFmpeg 2.2.4 (Encoder and Decoder) using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint and other Debian based Linux Distros

Step 1 : First open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for FFmpeg 2.2.4 on your Debian based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:samrog131/ppa
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added PPA for FFmpeg 2.2.4 in the software repository on your Debian based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 3 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest FFmpeg 2.2.4 on your Debian based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg-real
After installation, search and open FFmpeg application on your system. Now encode or decode your favorite audio or video files.
