Wine 1.7.26 released with Improved Common File Dialog & Few Game Fixes
Alexandre Julliard, developer at Wine, officially announces the release of Wine 1.7.26 with few improvements along with several bug fixes. This is another maintenance release under 1.7 series which includes improvements and fixes for Windows based games. This branch is still not stable because it still carries some issues which will be fixed by development team in near future.
According to official announcement, Wine 1.7.26 comes with few improvements to common file dialog along with number of C improvements. This release still includes more DirectWrite functions. It's performance get reduced when its theme is changed to vista inspirat. We have also enlisted some of the fixes below in this article. Among games fixes, Wine 1.7.26 includes MPQEdit 2.x crashes on startup if World of Warcraft 'wow.exe' process is already running, cannot manipulate the viewports in UnrealED 2, does not start after click "Play Game" button in Call of Atlantis, MetaTrader 4 'MetaEditor' tool has icon transparency problems, Live client launch fails in Final Fantasy XIV, Aeria Games 'Grand Fantasia' crashes on startup and Clash of Nations corrputs graphics in War Leaders. List of Bug Fixes Made in Wine 1.7.26
- gdi32:font test_fullname2() fails on Windows 7 in the French locale.
- Markets.com MetaTrader 4 crashes on startup.
- valgrind shows a definite leak in winemenubuilder/winemenubuilder.c.
- valgrind shows several warnings/leaks in d3dx9_36/tests/core.c.
- valgrind shows several leaks in d3dx9_36/tests/mesh.c.
- eRacer demo doesn't start, fails to load audio files.
- Adobe Creative Cloud: Adobe Application Manager crashes after signing in.
- Serif PhotoPlus X5 installation fails with dialog stating "this action is not supported, please use setup.exe".
- Git error message: "Tweaking file descriptors doesn't work with this MSVCRT.dll".
- QQ crashes because unimplemented function msvcr100.dll._strnset_s.
- Full Spectrum Warrior demo installer: 'Next' button has no effect after path selection (needs msi builtin 'OutOfNoRbDiskSpace' property).
- Assassin's Creed: wrong colors in the menus and in-game with built-in d3dx9_36.
- Norton Power Eraser: The procedure OpenEncryptedFileRawW could not be located in ADVAPI32.
- Rainbow Six Lockdown: screen shows garbage when anti-aliasing enabled.
