Video Editor, Pitivi 0.94 released with Unified GTK HeaderBar & Other Bugfixes

Pitivi developers officially announces the release of Pitivi 0.94 which is the forth release of video editor based on GES (GStreamer Editing Services) library. Well, guys this is just another maintenance release which primarily includes interesting improvements and features along with several bugfixes. As you know that Pitivi is another famous video editor available for Linux Distros which uses GStreamer multimedia framework.

According to official announcement, Pitivi 0.94 comes with unified GTK HeaderBar which replaces main toolbar, menubar and titlebar which saves a ton of precious vertical space and utilises the better use of horizontal space. Apart from these minor new features, it also includes other bugfixes like support for advanced GNOME desktop environment.

Earlier people who were running Pitivi outside of GNOME Shell faced some crashes due to Clutter GStreamer video output which now ported viewer widget to use GStreamer's new GL video output instead of ClutterSink. They have also fixed several bugs in GStreamer's glimagesink and also integrated them in GStreamer 1.4.

The developers also found issues related to gobject introspection or the overrides provided by gst-python. Recently reported broken version of CoGL in recent months which led to crashes is now fixed as the function which earlier called in not needed anymore in this release. The default positioning of UI components has been improved to be balanced properly and undocked window components do not shift position on startup anymore.
