BlackBerry "Windermere" Passport Display going to use Corning's Gorilla Glass 3


BlackBerry officially announces that the Passport Display will use corning's gorilla glass 3 as the protective measurement for LCD screens. As you know that during the launch of BlackBerry Z10, there was great misconception about the glass used for protection of LCD screen of that smartphone, but later on BlackBerry cleared the doubt about glass.

According to official announcement made by BlackBerry regarding the glass at N4BB, "The hardened display glass uses a new technology called Touch on Lens, where the touch technology is applied on the back side of the cover glass to eliminate the need for a separate touch panel. This helped us achieve the thinnest BlackBerry Smartphone to date".

This Touch on Lens technology has been used for BlackBerry 10 smartphones but recently BlackBerry is planning to change this technology in Passport. The specs of BlackBerry "Windermere" Passport already reveal that it will includes 4.5-inch screen display with 1440 x 1440 screen resolution and also uses Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 technology.
