Manjaro 0.8.10 receives Sixth Update Pack with Updated Kernel, KDE & Cinnamon


Manjaro development team officially announces the release of sixth update pack for Manjaro 0.8.10 distro. As you know that Manjaro distro is based on snapshots of ArchLinux repositories and fully compatible with Arch Linux. As you noticed that Archlinux moved on to xorg-server 1.16 series where as Manjaro still have hold on xorg115.

According to official announcement, the sixth update pack for Manjaro 0.8.10 comes with updated Linux Kernel version and fixed samba for security reasons. The coding language gambas3 receives another great point release. The LibreOffice-fresh includes latest LibreOffice 4.3.0 which you could install on your Manjaro box but it might create some complexity so if you planning to upgrade LibreOffice then do it at your own risk. Some of fixes which were reported in Cinnamon are fixed in this release along with Cinnamon version is to updated to 2.2.14 version. The KDE Frameworks upgrade to 5.1 version which offers more stability and functionality. Due to lot of bad regressions with new xorg version, this update uses its own xorg-stack which might be merged with Archlinux when it will be stable enough.
