NVIDIA 343.22 Driver for Linux released with New GPUs Support & Bug Fixes
NVIDIA developers officially announces the release of NVIDIA 343.22 driver for Linux with few new additions along with several bug fixes. Well this is another maintenance release under 343 series which primarily includes several bug fixes along with new changes.
According to official announcement, NVIDIA 343.22 comes with support for GPUs like GeForce GTX 970 and GeForce GTX 980. It also includes a new attribute to NV-CONTROL API to query the current utilization of the video decode engine along with addition of support for multiple simultaneous EGL displays.
The NVIDIA 343.22 worked around a Unigine Heaven 3.0 shader bug which may causes corruption when tessellation is enabled by implementing an application profile that uses the "GLignoreGLSLExtReqs" settings. Apart from these new additions, it also comes with bug fixes like fixed bug which prevented the "sync to vblank" setting from being honored for EGL applications.
It also fixes a bug which causes disabled displays to be implicitly included in the target selection for some queries and assignments on the nvidia-settings command line interface in the absence of any explicit target selection. It fixes a bug where the Exchange Stereo Eyes settings in nvidia-settings didn't work in certain stereo configurations. You can also download the NVIDIA 343.22 Driver for Linux Distros.
NVIDIA 343.22 driver for Linux also removes support for G8x, G9x and GT2xx GPUs and motherboard chipsets based on them. NVIDIA 340.32 Driver released with Support for Quadro GPUs & Many Bug Fixes
NVIDIA team officially announces the release of latest stable NVIDIA 340.32 graphics driver with new additions and minor bug fixes. This is the most advanced stable release of NVIDIA and has active support for long period. Currently, this driver is updated to various Linux Distro repositories so anyone can install it on their Linux distros.
According to official announcement, NVIDIA 340.32 driver comes with support for GPUs such as Quadro K420, K620, K2200, K4200 and K5200. Apart from this new feature, this release mainly includes several bug fixes like fixed a bug which causes some Java-based OpenGL applications using JOGL to crash on startup on systems with Xinerama enabled.
This release fixes a regression which prevents internal stereo infrared emitter built into some 3D Vision monitors from working. It fixes a bug which prevents OpenGL Framebuffer Objects from being properly redrawn after a modeswitch. It also fixes memeory leakage which occurs when starting OpenGL applications. This release fixed a bug which causes Xid errors when using stereo mode 12 on Quadro boards without an onboard stereo DIN connector and also fixes a bug which prevents EDID-like Data of audio-capable displays from being updated when hotplugged/unplugged. It fixes a "black window" bug in Ubuntu 14.04 when using Xinerama and Composite extensions.
Among other bug fixes, it includes fixed video corruption issue for VDPAU decoding of VC-1 and WMV video streams utilizing range remapping on Maxwell GPUs. It includes fixing of bug which causes screen's contents to be shifted downward when a G-SYNC monitor is unplugged and replaced by a non-G-SYNC monitor. How to Install NVIDIA 349.16 Beta using PPA on Ubuntu & Linux Mint
NVIDIA officially announces the release of NVIDIA 349.16 Beta with new addition along with minor bugfixes. Well this is another beta version availale for testing purposes. This release might surprise the new users because it includes support for new GPUs along with newly added features.
According to official announcement, NVIDIA 349.16 Beta comes with support for new GPUs such as Quadro K1200, M6000, GeForce 920M, 930A, 930M, GTX 950M, GTX 960M. It also includes support for G-SYNC monitors when used together with non-G-SYNC monitors and added support for lossless H.264/AVC video streams to VDPAU along with added support for VDPAU feature set F to the NVIDIA VDPAU driver.
This release also includes nvidia-settings commandline support to query the current and targeted GPU fan speed, a checkbox to nvidia-settings to enable a visual indicator that shows when G-SYNC is being used, support for X.Org X server's "-background none" option, support for YUV 4:2:0 compression to enable HDMI 2.0 4K@60Hz modes when either the display or GPU is incapable of driving these modes in RGB 4:4:4. NVIDIA 343.36 Driver for Linux released with X.Org xserver ABI 19 Support & Bugfixes
NVIDIA developers officially announces the release of NVIDIA 343.36 driver with few new additions and several bugfixes. This is the most advanced stable version of NVIDIA driver available for Linux Distros. With the rapid increase in Linux usage, NVIDIA making its reputation among Linux users by providing graphics driver for Linux users.
According to official announcement, NVIDIA 343.36 driver comes with support for X.Org xserver ABI 19 along with improved compatibility with recent Linux Kernels. It also implemented support for disabling indirect GLX context creation using the -glx option available on X.Org server release 1.16 and newer. The future X.Org server releases may make the -iglx option the default.
This release also adds "AllowIndirectGLXProtocol" X config option which is used to disallow use of GLX protocol. Apart from these minor new additions, this release also includes several bugfixes like fixed a regression which prevents NVIDIA X driver from recognizing Base Mosaic layouts generated by nvidia-settings control panel. NVIDIA 343.13 Beta for Linux receives Multiple EGL Display Support & Bug Fixes
NVIDIA team officially announces the release of NVIDIA 343.13 Beta with minor new changes and several bug fixes. This release mainly includes minor new updates along with bug fixes which were reported in earlier version. This is a maintenance release which is primarily available for testing purposes.

NVIDIA 340.46 Driver for Linux Updated with New Option & Minor Bug fixes
NVIDIA developers officially announces the release of NVIDIA 340.46 driver for all Linux Distro with minor bug fixes and few new additions. There are lot of development branches of NVIDIA drivers for Linux system and this release comes under Long Lived branch. Soon this release will be updated to repositories of various Linux Distros.
According to official announcement, NVIDIA 340.46 driver for Linux comes with new option UseSysmemPixmapAccel to control the use of GPU acceleration for X drawing operations on pixmaps allocated in system memory. It also fixes a bug which could prevent the GLSL compiler from correctly evaluating some expressions when compiling shaders. You can also download NVIDIA 340.46 Driver for Linux distros.
