NVIDIA 343.13 Beta for Linux receives Multiple EGL Display Support & Bug Fixes


NVIDIA team officially announces the release of NVIDIA 343.13 Beta with minor new changes and several bug fixes. This release mainly includes minor new updates along with bug fixes which were reported in earlier version. This is a maintenance release which is primarily available for testing purposes.

According to official announcement, NVIDIA 343.13 Beta comes with addition of new attribute to NV-CONTROL API to query the current utilization of the video decode engine. It also includes support for multiple simulateous EGL displays and remove support for G8x, G9x and GT2xx GPUs and motherboard chipsets based on them. The ongoing support for new Linux Kernel and X servers will be included in 340.x series.

NVIDIA 343.13 Beta also includes updated nvidia-installer to log uninstallation to a separate file from the installation log and attempt uninstalling previous driver installations using installer program from previous installations.  It also includes fixed memory leakage while destroying EGL surfaces. Apart from these updates, this release also includes minor bug fixes such as fixed a bug which causes disabled displays to be implicitly included in target selection for some queries and assignments on the nvidia-settings command line interface in the absence of any explicit target selection.
