Kid3 Audio Tag Editor 3.1.1 released with New Updates, Improvements & Fixes
Kid3 Audio Tag Editor developers officially announces the release of Kid3 3.1.1 Tag Editor with new features and minor improvements. Kid3 is a audio tag editor which allows you to edit tags of formats like MP3, Ogg, FLAC, MPC and WMA files. It also have control over ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags.
According to official announcement, Kid3 3.1.1 Editor comes with timeout command in kid3-cli to overwrite command timeout and build option WITH_NO_MANCOMPRESS to disable gzipped manpages. It also includes validation for date/time, track and disc number frames and also drop the dock icon on Mac OS X.
Among improvements, Kid3 3.1.1 includes updated Czech translations and shows picture type in frame table. It also includes support for drag and drop from https and ftp. It allows you to import from file/clipboard with empty date fields and handles RPATH to private libraries. The Preferences, Quit and About options are included in application menu and also added AppData and comment in desktop file for GNOME software. This release also includes several fixes like setting of POPM frames using kid3-cli and removing of COMM, PRIV, TXXX, free form frames. On Mac OS X, Kid3 3.1.1 supports case sensitive filesystems and also fixes drag and drop on OS X 10.10 Yosemite Preview. It restores Ogg files if writing fails and format while editing for tag 2. KDE announces the release of Second Bugfix of Plasma 5 Desktop
The KDE Community officially announces the release second bug fix release of upcoming Plasma 5 with new features and improvements. Few months ago, Plasma 5 was released with many new features and proposed upcoming features. The Plasma desktop is becoming quite popular among KDE users because of extreme advanced user interface.
According to official announcement, Plasma 5 or Plasma 5.0.2 comes with addition of new translations and fixes from KDE's contributors. Plasma Media Center 1.3 released with New Updates and Improved UI
KDE developers officially announces the release of Plasma Media Center 1.3 with new updates and bug fixes of 1.2 release. As you know that previously Plasma Media Center 1.2 was first time introduced by KDE developers as the Christmas gift last year.
According to official announcement, Plasma Media Center 1.3 comes with lots of performance improvements specially user interface of media on your personal computers and minor polishing in GUI. This release also provides support for Baloo search to fetch your media collections in Media Center.

KDE 4.14.1 Applications and Platform officially Updated with Bug Fixes

According to official announcement, KDE 4.14.1 Applications and Platform comes with more than 50 recorded bug fixes which primarily includes improvements to Personal Information Management suite Kontact, Umbrello UML Modelle, the document viewer Okular, the vocabulary learning application Parley and the file manager Dolphin. KDE Frameworks 5.7.0 updated with Improved KDE Apps & Bugfixes
KDE Community officially announces the release of KDE Frameworks 5.7.0 with new changes and improvements in KDE Apps. As you all know that this is just a maintenance release of stable KDE Frameworks 5.x version. KDE Frameworks are 60 addon libraries to Qt which provides a wide variety of commonly needed functionality in mature, peer reviewed and well tested libraries with friendly licensing terms.
According to official announcement, KDE Frameworks 5.7.0 comes with number of fixes for compiling with upcoming Qt 5.5 along with several fixes in KDE aaplications including fixes in KActivities, KArchive, KAuth, KCMUtils, KCodecs, KConfig, KConfigWidgets, KCoreAddons, KDBusAddons, KDeclarative, KdedKGlobalAccel and KIO applications.
The KActivities app includes fixed starting and stopping activities and fixed activity preview showing wrong wallpaper occasionally. You can now create temporary files in the temp dir rather than in current directory in KArchive whereas KCodecs receives support for CP949 to KCharsets. KDE Frameworks 5.5.0 released with Updated & Improved KDE Apps
KDE Community officially announces the release of KDE Frameworks 5.5.0 with new addons, improvements and minor fixes in KDE applications. As you know that KDE Frameworks is the collection of 60 addon libraries to Qt which provides a wide variety of commonly needed functionality in mature, peer reviewed and well tested libraries with friendly licensing terms.
According to official announcement, KDE Frameworks 5.5.0 comes with improvements in KDE applications such as Attica, KActivities, KCMUtils, KCodecs, KCompletion, KCoreAddons, KDeclarative, KEmoticons, KHTML, KIO, KJobWidgets, KNewStuff, KNotifications, KRunner, KService, KTextEditor, KWidgetsAddons and KWindowSystem.
The Attica application now uses all of QT_PLUGIN_PATH paths rather than just QLibraryInfo path to look for plugin whereas KActivities received a fixed plugin loading with KDE_INSTALL_USE_QT_SYS_PATHS ON. The KCodecs introduce KEmailAddress class for email validation, adds KCodecs::encodeRFC2407String() and also uses more robust implementation of MIME codecs taken from KMime library.
The KCoreAddons gets KTextToHTML class for plaintext->HTML conversion, add KPluginMetaData::metaDataFileName() and also allows you to read KPluginMetaData from .desktop files. Other changes in KDE Frameworks 5.5.0 includes fixed compilation with Qt 5.2.0, fixed platformstatus kded module and adds thumbnailAvailable property to PlasmaCore WindowThumbnail. KDE Frameworks 5.2.0 receives Fixes in KArchive, KConfigWidgets & Other KDE Apps
KDE community officially announces the release of KDE Frameworks 5.2.0 with new additions and minor improvements or fixes. As you know that KDE Frameworks is basically a collection of libraries and software frameworks by KDE which serves as technological foundation for KDE Plasma 5 and KDA Applications 5.
According to official announcement, KDE Frameworks 5.2.0 comes with new changes and fixes in KDE apps like fixed handling of uncompressed files in KArchive, fixed missing default shortcuts for standard actions in KConfigWidgets which leads to many runtime warnings. It also provides better support for QGroupBox in KConfigDialogManager.
The new classes like Kdelibs4ConfigMigrator and KPluginMetaData are also added in KCoreAddons along with addition of org.kde.kio component in KDeclarative. KDE Frameworks 5.9.0 released with Plasma-NM 5.3 Beta Upgrade & Other Improvements
KDE Community officially announces the release of KDE Frameworks 5.9.0 with new changes and minor bugfixes. digiKam 4.4.0 released with Slideshow & New OSD Widget Support
digiKam developers officially announces the release of digiKam 4.4.0 with new features and few improvements. The main objective behind releasing this release is to close the issues which were reported since previous release. The developers are trying to make it more than stable than earlier by fixing all the issues reported earlier.
According to official announcement, digiKam 4.4.0 comes with slideshow support multi-monitors computer and use a new OSD widget. The users can now also change Tags and Labels through keyboard shortcuts. This release also includes new keyboard shortcut to switch on/off color managed view for thumbnails and preview.

Cantata 1.4.2 released with Improved Tag Editor, Context View & Other Fixes
CraigD, developer of Cantata, officially announces the release of Cantata 1.4.2 Music Player Daemon with several new features along with minor bug fixes. Well the team haven't provide updates of Cantata quite a while and now this release comes with several new additions. As you know that Cantata is another client for Music Player Daemon and also known as fork of QtMPC.
According to official announcement, Cantata 1.4.2 comes with fixed downloading of podcasts when url is redirected. The tag editor of Cantata now shows only '(Various)' hint for 'All tracks' entry and also capitalise composer. You can easily resize cover in grouped view if it is wide and also resize device properties dialog when changing transcoder.
It display multiple genres as separate entries in playlists page genre combo and also initialise sidebar icon sizes before constructing. It allows you to change stream and online service, filter search category without closing current search field.
