Plasma Media Center 1.3 released with New Updates and Improved UI
KDE developers officially announces the release of Plasma Media Center 1.3 with new updates and bug fixes of 1.2 release. As you know that previously Plasma Media Center 1.2 was first time introduced by KDE developers as the Christmas gift last year.
According to official announcement, Plasma Media Center 1.3 comes with lots of performance improvements specially user interface of media on your personal computers and minor polishing in GUI. This release also provides support for Baloo search to fetch your media collections in Media Center.
Plasma Media Center 1.3 also offers support for MPRIS which allows you to use any sort of controller which supports MPRIS to control PMC. It also provides more details in all Music mode such as artist, album and duration. You might also like to check out latest other Software News on our website.
Apart from several bug fixes and UI polish, Plasma Media Center 1.3 includes support for simple filesystem based media scanner along with improved GStreamer compatibility. VLC 2.1.5 Media Player for Linux released with New Improvements & Bug Fixes
VideoLAN community officially announces the release of VLC 2.1.5 Media Player with new features for all Linux Distros. On their official FTP server, they have uploaded VLC 2.1.5 Media Player for download specially for Linux Distros whereas binaries for Windows and Mac OS soon will be available by the end of this week.
According to official announcement, VLC 2.1.5 Media Player comes with stability improvements for QTSound capture module and also includes fixed channel ordering issues on Mac OS X audio output. This release also fixes compilation issues on OS/2 operating system.
This updated version no longer renames MP3 converted files to raw files. Apart from these new changes, this release also includes minor bug fixes as it fixes DxVA2 decoding of samples which require more surfaces and also fixes PGS subtitles alignment in MKV files. Among other improvements, VLC 2.1.5 Media Player comes with improved Mac OS X interface with better video on top functionality and proper video output event propagation on Macs with Retina displays. It also improves MAD resistance to damaged MP3 strearths. The GnuTLS and libpng library are updated to 3.1.25 and 1.6.10 versions respectively.

Plex Media Server 0.9.9.13 released with New Updated & Minor Bugfixes
Plex Media Server developers officially announces the release of Plex Media Server 0.9.9.13 with new features and other bugfixes. Plex Media Server is another entertainment software which allows its users to watch movies and TV shows on their personal computers. Recently, Plex Media Server recieves new updates along with minor fixes.
According to official announcement, Plex Media Server 0.9.9.13 comes with support for blur, saturation and alpha blending on image transcode endpoint along with support for rich "composite" images and support for "starts with" and "ends with" operators in filters. This release also allows null values for ID fields and adds support for "limit=X" in filters. Among other, it includes support for skip count and skip date.
Apart from these new features, Plex Media Server 0.9.9.13 also includes several bugfixes including default account to english as opposed to nothing at all and fixes an issue where sometimes sync items would fail to process or upload. It fixes failure of transcoding issue in some channel content and provides much better audio boost.
Other miscellaneous fixes includes an ordering bug getting background art from all libraries, a bug where an item could end up in a referesh loop, sever could end up hanging during nightly DB optimization task, selected art could be reset on refresh if it was generated art and speed up deleting transcode temporary directories. MPlayer based MPV Player 0.7.0 released with New Features & Minor Fixes
MPV Player developers officially announces the release of MPV Player 0.7.0 with new additions along with minor bugfixes. MPV Player is an open source and cross platform player and also a fork of mplayer2 and MPlayer. It offers features like streamlined CLI options, on screen controller, high quality video output, GPU video decoding and active development by volunteers.
According to official announcement, MPV Player 0.7.0 comes with buffer partial log messages in client API, cascade-load input.conf, enables cdda://support by default again and removes ncurses/terminfo/termcap support. It improves synchronization between the Cocoa GUI and the player. This release uses "site-functions" subdir to install zsh completion script instead of Debian specific "vendor-completions".
Apart from these new changes and fixes, MPV Player 0.7.0 also includes several new features like addition of cache-buffering-state property for querying the cache fill status until the player unpauses. It also adds the support for listing and selecting the audio device along with addition of Lua utility function for starting processes, addition of Lua utility function for parsing JSON.
Among other new additions, MPV Player 0.7.0 includes addition of field-dominance property, addition of video-rotate property, addition of playback-abort property, addition of cursor-autohide property, addition of support for dxva2 hardware acceleration on Windows and addition of support for loading chapters from external file.
