KDE community officially announces the release of KDE Frameworks 5.2.0 with new additions and minor improvements or fixes. As you know that KDE Frameworks is basically a collection of libraries and software frameworks by KDE which serves as technological foundation for KDE Plasma 5 and KDA Applications 5.

According to official announcement, KDE Frameworks 5.2.0 comes with new changes and fixes in KDE apps like fixed handling of uncompressed files in KArchive, fixed missing default shortcuts for standard actions in KConfigWidgets which leads to many runtime warnings. It also provides better support for QGroupBox in KConfigDialogManager.

The new classes like Kdelibs4ConfigMigrator and KPluginMetaData are also added in KCoreAddons along with addition of org.kde.kio component in KDeclarative. It disables the DDS and JPEG-2000 plugins when Qt version is 5.3 or later in KImageFormats. The KIO in this release comes with new classes like EmptyTrashJob and RestoreJob along with new functions in ClipboardDataCut and setClipboardDataCut.

Among other new changes and fixes, KDE Frameworks 5.2 includes new class KColumnResizer in KWidgetAddons, new method KWindowSystem::setOnActivities in KWindowSystem, support for relative libexec dir in Buildsystem changes and file dialog remembers its size correctly and works better with remote URLs in Frameworkintegration.
