How To Install Fingerprint GUI 1.06 using PPA on Ubuntu & Linux Mint

Fingerprint GUI developers officially announces the release of Fingerprint GUI 1.06 with new improvements and minor bugfixes. According to official announcement, Fingerprint GUI 1.06 comes with new program icon, new design for fingerprint request widget and also added MATE desktop to fingerprint-polkit-agent.desktop settings. The Fingerprint-helper now aware of multiple screen environments and is always placed on the screen that contains the cursor. This release also includes minor bugfixes like fix for cinnamon-screensaver on Mint 16 and Mint 17 along with segfault after failed login on secure tty.

Step Wise Installation of Fingerprint GUI 1.06 using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint and other PPA based Linux Distros


Step 1 : Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for Fingerprint GUI 1.06 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fingerprint-gui
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added PPA for Fingerprint 1.06 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 3 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest stable Fingerprint GUI 1.06 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install libbsapi policykit-1-fingerprint-gui fingerprint-gui
After installation, search "Fingerprint GUI" and launch it on your system.
