Evolve OS Alpha 3 Linux available for download with Budgie Desktop Environment


Evolve OS development team officially announces the release of third Alpha version of upcoming Evolve OS Linux Distro. Evolve OS is a new Linux Distro which is based on new desktop environment known as Budgie. The Budgie desktop environment was first developed by Ikey Doherty.

According to official announcement made by Ikey Doherty, Evolve OS Alpha 3 is the final release of Alpha series which will contain almost all the features which you will be getting in stable Evolve OS release. The default Budgie desktop environment provides user friendly and familiar desktop experience.

As you know that this release doesn't include EFI support, so developers state that they will going to publish EFI image sometime by the end of this week. This is the last Alpha release so it contains almost all updated packages which you are going to notice in stable Evolve OS release. The ALSA is now correctly configured and integrated with PulseAudio which you could verify by attempting by listening flash video in YouTube via headphones. Apart from desktop environment, Evolve OS Alpha 3 also going to provide up to date and most updated packages in repositories. Currently, it is available only for 64-bit machines and doesn't provide support for EFI. Other updated applications which you might get in this release includes X.Org 1.16.0, MesaLib 10.2.4, Linux Kernel 3.15.6, Firefox 31.0 and GNOME 3.12 stack.
