MPlayer based MPV Player 0.7.0 released with New Features & Minor Fixes
MPV Player developers officially announces the release of MPV Player 0.7.0 with new additions along with minor bugfixes. MPV Player is an open source and cross platform player and also a fork of mplayer2 and MPlayer. It offers features like streamlined CLI options, on screen controller, high quality video output, GPU video decoding and active development by volunteers.
According to official announcement, MPV Player 0.7.0 comes with buffer partial log messages in client API, cascade-load input.conf, enables cdda://support by default again and removes ncurses/terminfo/termcap support. It improves synchronization between the Cocoa GUI and the player. This release uses "site-functions" subdir to install zsh completion script instead of Debian specific "vendor-completions".
Apart from these new changes and fixes, MPV Player 0.7.0 also includes several new features like addition of cache-buffering-state property for querying the cache fill status until the player unpauses. It also adds the support for listing and selecting the audio device along with addition of Lua utility function for starting processes, addition of Lua utility function for parsing JSON.
Among other new additions, MPV Player 0.7.0 includes addition of field-dominance property, addition of video-rotate property, addition of playback-abort property, addition of cursor-autohide property, addition of support for dxva2 hardware acceleration on Windows and addition of support for loading chapters from external file.
