Skype 4.3 for Linux released with Updated UI, PulseAudio 4.0 & Group Chat


Ubuntu team officially announces the availability of Skype 4.3 PPA for Ubuntu variants. This release includes new features as well as minor bug fixes. As you know that Skype is now owned by Microsoft and they still provides updates for Skype for Linux distros.

Skype for Linux allows you to do low cost calls and text messages to mobiles and landlines. You can also do video calls to your contacts and access free instant messages to your friends, family and colleagues. You can download latest Skype for your Linux Distro or install it via PPAs.

According to official announcement, it is officially confirmed that Skype 4.3 PPA is now for Ubuntu variants. The Skype 4.3 for Linux comes with an updated UI along with support for PulseAudio 3.0 and 4.0. This release provides new cloud-based Group Chat experience and provides more reliable file transfer support while using multiple devices at a time.

Apart from this, Skype 4.3 for Linux also offered greater accessibility to blind and visually impaired users. Earlier this release was not available in PPA repositories and now developers put an update PPA for Skype 4.3 in the repository, so that any one can use it and install it on latest Ubuntu variants.
