Google Chrome Dev 38 Browser receives Minor Improvements & Bug Fixes


Google Chrome team officially announces the release of Google Chrome dev 38 web browser for all platforms. This is again a development release which primarily includes fixes of previous dev builds. Currently, this build is available for Windows, Mac and various Linux Distros.

According to official announcement, Google Chrome Dev 38 browser comes with fixed device registration and addition of ExtensionService comments for various methods which are deprecated. The developers make an attempt to load system fonts using Custom Font interface of directwrite instead of system font collection interface. With custom font collections, the developers try to take control of font loading part and explore ways to improve it further. Other changes includes addition of tests for SwipePinchDetector, remove size from receive APIs and return report ID separately, restrict nvidia gralloc workaround to < gles 3.1, fix touch exploration tests so they don't break eager gesture detection and experience sampling API implementation.
