Mir Display Server and Unity 8 updated with UI and Translation Fixes
The Ubuntu Phone development team officially announces the release of new update for Mir Display Server and Unity 8 with minor bug fixes. Well as you know that the development of Mir and Unity 8 is going on at slow speed, but every release contains some fixes which were reported by users.
According to official announcement, Mir Display Server now works on critical/high priority bugs. It also continue working on devel/Mir 0.8, promoted Mir 0.7.2 with some minor bug fixes. This updated Mir wound down on privating Mir server interface which mainly deals with knock on effects of packaging.
The Unity 8 also receives some of the fixes like fixing of some translation bugs along with dash UI related issues. It also fixes promotion blocker for touch/edge issues. Apart from these fixes, Unity 8 also reviews some of the update requests from design re dash and indicators.
Currently, Unity 7 is used on Ubuntu 14.04 but as we know that in October, Ubuntu 14.10 is coming so it might be possible that it will come up with Unity 8 as default desktop environment where as Ubuntu Phones already received updated Mir and Unity 8 support. Unity 8 and Mir officially receives New Updates & Fixes for QtComp
Canonical developers officially announces the release of Unity 8 and Mir with new updates. The developers are continuously working on new features of Unity 8 and Mir. This recently released updated Unity 8 and Mir contains minor fixes along with few improvements.
According to official announcement, Unity 8 officially receives new updated for user interface. It includes fixing an issue in QtComp which is one of the most awaited fixes till now. The updated Unity 8 deliver a little more scope customization ability and also continues working on outstanding requests put up by its end users.
The Unity 8 also investigate next requests such as password failure timeouts and welcome wiz encouraging password use. It also provides scope overview integration updates with backend along with preparation of dash-as-app. It also bug fixes from outcome of Design team's fit-n-finish sprint.
Apart from Unity 8, Mir Display Server also receives new updates. It includes bug fixes of Mir 5.0 for some AP tests and qtcomp. The updated Mir still working to get page flipping working correctly with qxl driver and also continued the client fencing optimization work. Canonical announces the release of Mir Display Server 0.7.0 with New Changes
Canonical officially announces the release of Mir 0.7.0 Display Server with several new changes and bug fixes. This stable release primarily includes new changes, enhancements and other improvements. It includes various improvements to SessionMediator test and other various build related improvements. As you know that Mir display server is currently available for Ubuntu Phones but soon will be available for Desktops too.
According to official announcement, Mir 0.7.0 Display Server comes with reworked mechanism to override Mir client functions, detec custom rendering to make it compatible with overlay optimizations and also add test cases and script for tracking changes to the new ABI's libmircommon and libmirplatform. It also includes symbols file for libmirplatform, libmircommon and libmirserver.
Among other changes, Mir 0.7.0 Display Server also includes print testcase output during package build, abort test when InProcessServer startup fails, link the integration and unit tests against the server objects and add document detailing the useful tests to run and useful logs to collect when troubleshooting a new android chipset.
