Ubuntu GNOME development team officially announces the release of Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 Beta 1 "Utopic Unicorn" with new features and updated applications. As you can see this is the beta version, so it is obvious that it might contain issues and bugs which you have to report them while testing. This release is strictly not for those users who are not familiar about pre-release issues.

According to official announcement, Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 Beta 1 "Utopic Unicorn" comes with support for Gnome Shell 3.12 along with default programs like gnome-weather and gnome-maps. Apart from these major new changes, this release also includes series of issues like Ubiquity offers to erase existing OS rather than use entire disc even when more than one disc exists. Other known issues includes Utopic installation freezes during partition creation, Utopic "Installation completed" window nearly spans the width of screen and after reboot of Ubuntu Gnome installation, password for LVM encryption is not accepted.
