Linus Torvalds announces the release of Kernel 3.18 RC4 with Minor Fixes

Linus Torvalds officially announces the release of Linux Kernel 3.18 RC4 with minor changes and fixes compared to previous release. Well Linus is much calm about this release as everything goes in smooth pace and right on schedule. He always annoyed with last day entries but this time by his statement it seems that Linus is not annoyed this time.

According to official announcement, Linus Torvalds state that, "Hey, things are finally calming down. In fact, it looked *really* calm until yesterday, at which point some people clearly realized "hey, I should push my stuff to Linus so that it makes it into -rc4", and then a third of all changes came in the last day, but despite that, rc4 finally looks like things are falling into place, and we'll get to stabilize this release after all." According to release notes, Linux Kernel 3.18 RC4 comes with over a half fixes in driver segment and almost a third fixes for architecture patches which includes architectures like arm, powerpc, mips and s390. The rest of fixes are made in filesystem especially in XFS filesystem. We have also enlisted some of the fixes below in this post. - arm64: psci: fix cpu_suspend to check idle state type for index.
- ARM: dts: zynq: Enable PL clocks for Parallella.
- dma: edma: move device registration to platform code.
- soc: versatile: Add terminating entry for realview_soc_of_match.
