Linus Torvalds officially announces the release of third release candidate of Linux Kernel 3.19 with minor fixes and changes. Well this release already get delayed by a day because of personal problems of Linus Torvalds. After the holiday period, the Kernel development is back on track, but this release contains very less fixes or changes then earlier ones because of holiday season.

According to official announcement, Linux Kernel 3.19 RC3 comes with addition of some Samsung models to disbale_native_backlight list and also removes ARCH_HAS_BANDGAP dependency for samsung. In his official announcement, Linus state that "It's a day delayed - not because of any particular development issues, but simply because I was tiling a bathroom yesterday. But rc3 is out there now, and things have stayed reasonably calm. I really hope that implies that 3.19 is looking good, but it's equally likely that it's just that people are still recovering from the holiday season." The brief changelog state that this release includes three quarter of changes for drivers which includes changes in networking, thermal, input layer, sound, power management drivers. Apart from this, other miscellaneous changes includes fixes in filesystems, core networking along with some architecture fixes. We have also enlisted some of the fixes below in this post. List of Fixes Made in Linux Kernel 3.19 RC3

- Bluetooth: hidp_connection_add() unsafe use of l2cap_pi().
- Bluetooth: cmtp: cmtp_add_connection() should verify that it's dealing with l2cap socket.
- SCSI: fix regression in scsi_send_eh_cmnd().
- mmc: core: stop trying to switch width when only one bit is supported.
- net/mlx4_en: Doorbell is byteswapped in Little Endian archs.
- PM / Domains: Export of_genpd_get_from_provider function.
- fnic: IOMMU Fault occurs when IO and abort IO is out of order.
- Input: evdev - add CLOCK_BOOTTIME support.
- Input: optimize events_per_packet count calculation.
