How to Install LibreOffice 4.3.1 via PPA on Ubuntu Variants & Linux Mint


LibreOffice is popular office suite which is available for all Linux Distros as well as other platforms. This suite mainly collection of multiple programs like word processing, spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings, maintain databases and compose mathematical formulae.

Step Wise Installation of LibreOffice 4.3.1 using PPA on Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint and other PPA based Linux Distros

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to remove existing LibreOffice 4.3.1 suite from your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get remove libreoffice*
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for LibreOffice 4.3.1 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added PPA for LibreOffice 4.3.1 in the software repository on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 4 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest LibreOffice 4.3.1 suite on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice
After installation, search for "LibreOffice" and launch it on your system. Verify the version of currently running LibreOffice by going to "Help->About". Now enjoy the new features of LibreOffice 4.3.1 on your machine.
