How to Install Firefox 37.0.2 using Source Tarball on Various Linux Distros
Mozilla Foundation recently announces the release of Firefox 37.0.2 browser but still this updated firefox is not available in repository of many Linux Distros, but the community also provided the alternative options through which you can easily install the latest Firefox 37.0.2 browser in your favorite Linux Distros. The updated Firefox 37.0.2 browser comes with several improvements and bugfixes.
In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install Firefox 37.0.2 Web Browser using source tarball on 32-bit or 64-bit Linux Distros. Well we haven't tested this command on various distros, but you can try it but carefully because if something gone wrong then you are completely responsible for it.
Step Wise Installation of Firefox 37.0.2 Browser using Source Tarball on 32-bit and 64-bit Linux Distros
Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download latest 32-bit or 64-bit source tarball of Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux distro.

Step Wise Installation of Firefox 37.0.2 Browser using Source Tarball on 32-bit and 64-bit Linux Distros
Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download latest 32-bit or 64-bit source tarball of Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux distro.
For 32-bit systems,
$ wget ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/37.0.2/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
For 64-bit systems,
$ wget ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/37.0.2/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to extract the contents of downloaded 32-bit or 64-bit source tarball of Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux system.
$ tar -xjvf firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to remove all the files and folders of existing Firefox browser from your Linux system.
$ sudo rm -rf /opt/firefox*
Step 4 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to move extracted "firefox" folder into /opt/ directory.
$ sudo mv firefox /opt/firefox
Step 5 : Finally, run the following command in terminal to install latest Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux system.
$ sudo ln -sf /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
