HandyLinux development team officially announces the release of HandyLinux 1.7 with new features and improvements. Well HandyLinux is another distro which is based on Debian and Xfce desktop environment. It considered as one of the best alternative for Windows XP users.

According to official announcement, HandyLinux 1.7 comes with Iceweasel as default web browser instead of Chromium browser. The Iceweasel browser directly comes from Mozilla deposits which allows its users to integrate the "version -release Iceweasel" currently iceweasel-33. It also includes 2.3 HandyMenu which allows you to see facebook button disappear in favor of direct link to free services Framasoft.

This release includes yelp for direct support software Gnome along with addition of "social launchers" to directly drag the social ties from the list of applications and addition of firmware-ralink. HandyLinux 1.7 also includes some of the basic plugins which are enabled by default. Some of the basic plugins which you will find in this release includes adblock-edge, video download helper, gnotifier, google image search, google translator, showcase, badge tab, tabscope and youtube allhtml5.

This release also includes some of the default accessibility plugins like image zoom, tranquility for easier reading, blank your monitor & easy read for the sake of view, full color tabs for visibility colored tabs, foxvox for speech synthesis and new scrollbar to change the appearance of the scroll bars.
