Debian 8 "Jessie" might arrive in February as it contains 310RC Bugs
The Debian community announces that stable release of Debian 8.0 "Jessie" might arrive in the month of February, 2015. As you know that, Debian 8.0 "Jessie" was frozen down in last week, but according to release notes it is confirmed that still 310RC bugs are remianed to be fixed. These large number of bugs offer a challenge to developers so that they can reduce them before the schedule release of Debian 8 "Jessie".
According to one of the announcement made by Lucas Nussbaum in his blog state that the existing 310RC bugs in frozen state of Debian 8.0 already breaks record of all recent Debian releases. It seems that the auto-removals of RC-buggy non-key packages helped a lot to keep the bug number under control. The team assume that if they remove all RC-buggy non-key packages then number of bugs reduced to 150RC bugs. Also, review recent Linux Distro News to know what's new in them ?
The history of Debian freeze itself explains that everytime freeze state takes minimum of 40 weeks, but this time developers think that it shouldn't take this much time in frozen state. One of the developer, Richard Hartmann's weekly stats provides a good live breakdown of RC bugs per category. You might also like to check out other latest Software News on our website.
