CloneZilla Live developer, Steven Shiau, officially announces the release of CloneZilla Live 2.2.3-25 with major new enhancements and minor bug fixes. The underlying GNU/Linux operating system is upgraded and it is based on Debian Sid repository. This distro is designed specially for hard disk drive cloning operations.

According to official announcement, CloneZilla 2.2.3-25 comes with updated Linux Kernel 3.14.7-1 along with updated Package drbl 2.9.9-drbl1 and clonezilla 3.10.26-drbl1. Apart from this, Syslinux is updated to 6.03-pre17 and program makeboot.sh is patched by Ceasar Sun to support xfs, ufs and ffs.

A new testing program named as "ocs-img-2-vdk" is added in this release which is used to convert CloneZilla image as virtual disk file via KVM. To use this new testing program, qemu-utils and qemu-kvm packages are needed. The language files such as ca_ES, de_DE, es_ES, fr_FR, it_IT, ja_JP.UTF-8 and sk_SK are also updated in this release. Apart from these new changes, this release also includes minor bug fixes. This release forced to use LC_ALL=C to run printf in ocs-expand-mbr-pt which could avoid locales issue. The newer ntfsclone comes with option "-V' which conflicts with option we used before. You might also like to check out other latest Software News on our website.
