Geary 0.7.0 (Mail Client) released with Improved UI and New Features


Yorba developers officially announces the release of Geary 0.7.0 (Email Client) with new features along with minor bug fixes. Like Thunderbird mail, Geary mail client is quite popular among Linux users as it is lightweighted and has user friendly interface.

According to official announcement, Geary 0.7.0 client comes with improved main window interface which uses GtkHeaderBar. This release also includes updated translations as well as improved connection retry. The saving drafts on server can be disabled from this release. The major overhaul of email composer now inline in main window and redesigned. The mail composer will automatically add signature to emails. Geary 0.7.1 receives Improved IMAP, Updated Translations & Minor Fixes


Yorba developers officially announces the release of Geary 0.7.1 with minor new features and few improvements. As you have seen earlier that Geary is a lightweighted email client and quite popular among GNOME desktop users specially Ubuntu users. This is just a development release which is primarily released for testing purposes.

According to official announcement, Geary 0.7.1 email client comes with improved IMAP disconnect/reconnect logic and updated translations. It shows attachments lacking a Content-Disposition along with stabilized search results to prevent lost or dropped results. Also, review how to install Geary using PPA on Ubuntu and Linux Mint ?

Geary 0.8.0 released with Redesigned Mail Composer & Signature Support


The Yorba developers officially announces the release of Geary 0.8.0 Email Client with new addition along with minor bug fixes. As you all know that Geary is one of the popular mail client like Thunderbird and used by most of Ubuntu users. Well this release contains several improvements along with new features.

According to official announcement, Geary 0.8.0 email client comes with major redesign of email composer, now presented inline in main window, composer will automatically add signature to emails, saving drafts to server can be disabled, improved interface which uses GtkHeaderBar and modern widgets, database speed optimizations to reduce lags and improve read time, improved connection handling and reestablishment.

Robert Schroll, developer of Geary, redesigned the mail composer which looks sharper and more modern than earlier one. It also operates inline in main window which is you have to type your reply right below the email you are responding to. So it makes the conversation more natural rather then opening a separate window or switching to new window. You can also download the source tarball of Geary 0.8.0 for your Linux distro.

This release also comes with signature support in Geary, by which geary automatically insert a signature of your design into your email while replying.
