SystemRescueCd 4.3.1 released with Kernel 3.14.17 & Updated Filesystems


SystemRescueCd developers officially announces the release of SystemRescueCd 4.3.1 with minor new updates. SystemRescueCd is basically a Linux system rescue disk which is available as a bootable CD-ROM or USB stick for administrating or repairing your system and data after a crash.

According to official announcement, SystemRescueCd 4.3.1 comes with support for long term Linux Kernel 3.10.53 along with updated to stable Linux Kernel 3.14.17. Among other updates, it also includes updated GNU Parted to 3.2 and GParted to 0.19.1 with minor bug fixes. The file system are also updated such as e2fsprogs 1.42.12, btrfs-progs 3.14.2 and fuse-exfat 1.1.0.

The main objective of SystemRescueCd distro is to provide an easy way to carry out admin tasks on your computer like creating and editing the hard disk partitions. By default, it comes with system tools such as parted, partimage and fstools along with other basic tools such as editors, midnight commander and networking tools.
