PHP 5.5.16 released with Core, Milter, Network, OpenSSL & ODBC Fixes
PHP development team officially announces the release of PHP 5.5.16 with several bug fixes. PHP is quite popular among web developers for its dynamic nature. The current PHP 5.x series mainly includes new OOP model which is based on Zend Engine and new extension for improved MySQL support along with built-in native support for SQLite.
According to official announcement, PHP 5.5.16 comes with fixed missing type checks in com_event_sink and fixed incorrect push to empty array. It includes fixed bug where extensive backtracking in rule regular expression and Segfault in cdf.c. It also fixes php links to systemd libraries without using pkg-config along with fixing of php-gd 'c_color' NULL pointer dereference.
PHP 5.5.16 includes mainly bug fixes like fixed php-milter does not build and crashes randomly, fixed missing type checks in OpenSSL options, fixed interactive mode doesn't force a newline before the prompt, fixed save command history when existing interactive shell with control-c, fixed missing type checks in php_session_create_id and fixed odbc_fetch_into returns junk data at end of multi-byte char fields.
