Manjaro XFCE development team officially announces the release of Manjaro XFCE 0.9.0 Pre1 distro with new features and updated applications. Well some of you already know that a small community developers already started developing next stable release of Manjaro XFCE. With this XFCE series, Manjaro Xfce tried to switch over to more modern graphical installer framework called Calamares. Also, review recent Linux Distro News to know what's new in them ?

According to official announcement, Manjaro Xfce 0.9.0 pre1 release comes with XFCE 4.11 series, linux318 kernel series and all other usual upstream updates of Manjaro. The main highlighted feature of this pre version is the introduction of Calamares framework which is simply a installer framework and modular in approach. You can also download the ISO Image of Manjaro Xfce 0.9.0 Pre1 to install it on your machine.

Because of modular nature of Calamares, it uses about 10% of modules which are specific to Manjaro, but other stays entirely integrated. Currently, Calamares is in beta phase but soon it will available in stable version. The idea of Calamares born because developers of Netrunner, KaOS and Manjaro discussed together the possibility to work jointly on a brand new Qt5 based installer.
