Manjaro 0.8.10 receives First Update Pack which includes Kernel 3.14.7 & KDE 4.13.2


Manjaro developers announces the release of first update pack for Manjaro 0.8.10 Linux distro with new and updated packages. Well you know that few days ago stable Manjaro 0.8.10 distro was released and developers consistently providing new updates to Manjaro repository. This is the first update pack of Manjaro 0.8.10 released where as Manjaro 0.8.9 receives 9 update pack.

According to official announcement, Manjaro 0.8.10 comes with KDE 4.13.2 desktop environment along with new packages. This release also includes addition of more Gnome3 package updates and latest mesa 10.2.1 with better working mhwd. Also, check out how to upgrade to KDE 4.13.2 on Debian derivatives ?

Apart from this, KF5 is also updated to 4.100 version. There is one issue with this release is that you have to add kde-unstable from Archlinux to get fully working KDE5 desktop environment. The regular kernel is also updated along with latest upstream packages. This distro supports several updated kernels upto Kernel 3.14.7.

The developers of Manjaro 0.8.10 still facing the problem of systemd v214, so they just hold some packages back to be merged with stable/testing until they are certain that their system won't break. You might also like to check out other latest Linux Distribution News on our website.
