Manjaro 0.8.10 receives 11th Update Pack with Updated Drivers & Applications
Manjaro development team officially announces the release of 11th and last update pack for Manjaro 0.8.10 with new features and minor fixes. This update pack mainly includes point release for many kernels. The team also suggest that if someone has already install linux38 and linux311 packages then they should immediately uninstall them as they have dropped those packages from this release.
According to official announcement, the 11th update pack of Manjaro 0.8.10 comes with updated kernels 3.10.56, 3.12.29, 3.13.11.8, 3.14.20, 3.16.4 and 3.17.0. This release also includes updated Catalyst driver 14.201, Nvidia driver 343.22 and updated xorg-stack to xorg-server 1.16 series. This release also drops some of supported GPUs which includes G8x, G9x and GT2xx, but the developers provide nvidia-340xx packages for those GPUs. You can also run "mhwd" command in terminal and install the required drivers if you want to use GPUs which are now dropped from this release. Apart from this, the 11th update pack of Manjaro 0.8.10 also includes some updated applications like LibreOffice 4.3.2, Firefox 32.0.3, Thunderbird 31.1.2 and Calligra 2.8.6.
The Manjaro Settings Manager now supports mhwd-dev which is the advanced version of mhwd. The Octopi and Pamac also get updated to newer development snapshots with fixed known issues along with updated some XFCE packages. The KDE is also updated to 4.14.1 version whereas Plasma 5 packages are not release with stable branch whereas it is available with unstable branch for testing purposes.
