Linus Torvalds announces the release of Kernel 3.17 with few Driver Fixes
Linus Torvalds officially announces the release of Linux Kernel 3.17 with several fixes which was made in previous release candidates of Kernel 3.17 series. Well Linus claims that this release is scheduled to release ont week early but because of some urgent changes it get delayed by one week.
According to official announcement made by Linus, Linux Kernel 3.17 release includes mostly fixes for driver like i915, nouveau, ethernet, scsi and sound along with some networking fixes. Well if you compare this release with previous one then you won't find anything much new because it only includes minor fixes. The Linus Torvalds also state that, he will not going to merge the development of Kernel 3.18 in next week because a week after that he will be attending this year's LinuxCon conference which is going to happen in Europe. For Kernel enthusiasts, he state that if you want to submit your patches then you can do that but he will be processing your submits for at least a week.
