How to Install LXQt 0.7.0 Desktop Environment on Fedora 20 & OpenSUSE 13.1

LXQt is the Qt port and the upcoming version of LXDE Desktop Environment. It is primarily produce as the result of merge between LXDE-Qt and Razor-qt projects. Recently, LXQt 0.7.0 released with new enhancements and several bug fixes. In our previous post, we have already discussed what's new in LXQt 0.7.0 Desktop Environment ?
In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install LXQt 0.7.0 Desktop Environment using repo on Fedora 20, 19, 18 and OpenSUSE 13.1, 12.3 Linux Distros. You might also like to check out latest Software News on our website.
Step Wise Installation of LXQt 0.7.0 (Desktop Environment) using YUM repo on Fedora 20, 19, 18
Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download yum repository for LXQt 0.7.0 on your Fedora system.
$ sudo wget download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/lxde:/lxqt:/fedora/Fedora_20/X11:lxde:lxqt:fedora.repo -O /etc/yum.repos.d
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to remove existing LXDE Desktop environment on your Fedora system.
$ sudo yum remove lxde*
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update yum repository so that recently added LXQt yum repository get updated on your Fedora system.
$ sudo yum update
Step 4 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest LXQt 0.7.0 via yum repository on your Fedora system.
$ sudo yum install lxqt* -x lxqt-*-debuginfo --disablerepo=fedora
After installation, when yu switch to LXDE desktop environment then you might notice that it is updated to newer version. If you are using OpenSUSE distro and want to install latest LXQt 0.7.0 then you should follow the commands given below.

Step 1 : First open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download latest repo for LXQt 0.7.0 on your OpenSUSE system.

Step 1 : First open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download latest repo for LXQt 0.7.0 on your OpenSUSE system.
$ zypper addrepo -f http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/lxde:/lxqt/openSUSE_13.1/ LXDE-QT.repo
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to remove existing LXDE desktop environment from your OpenSUSE system.
$ sudo zypper remove lxde*
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to referesh or update recently added repo on your OpenSUSE system.
$ sudo zypper refresh
Step 4 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest LXDE desktop environment on your OpenSUSE system.
$ sudo zypper install -t pattern lxde-qt
After installation, when you try to switch to LXDE desktop environment then you will notice that it will updated ot 0.7.0 version.
