How to Install Google Music Manager Beta 1.0.117 on Ubuntu & Linux Mint


It's being long time since Google Music Manager now available for all Linux Distros. The Google Music Manager is an online music player which allows you upload your favorite songs to your Google Music Library and then arrange the playlist using drag and drop feature. It is quite similar as 8tracks Uploader which is quite popular among Mac users.

The Google Music Manager allows its users to quickly transfer songs to their Google Music Library. You can also tweak settings on Music Manager to automatically upload new music which it detects from iTunes, Windows Media Player or other storage media. In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install Google Music Manager Beta 1.0.117 using Debian repo on Ubuntu 14.04, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint 17 and other latest PPA based Linux Distros.

Step Wise Installation of Google Music Manager Beta 1.0.117 using Debian Repository on Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Linux Mint and other PPA based Linux Distros

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add Debian repository for Google Music Manager Beta 1.0.117 in sources.list.d file on your PPA based Linux distros.
$ sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://dl.google.com/linux/musicmanager/deb/ stable main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-musicmanager.list'
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to download and add key for Google Music Manager 1.0.117 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added Debian repository on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 4 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest beta version of Google Music Manager 1.0.117 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install google-musicmanager-beta
After installation, search for "Google Music Manager" either in Unity Dash or in Application menu. Now upload your favorite songs to music manager and then arrange them according to your needs.
