Firefox 34 released with Yahoo Search Engine, Firefox Hello Client & Other Updates
Mozilla Foundation officially announces the release of Firefox 34 Web Browser with new changes and minor fixes. Firefox 34 comes with default Yahoo search engine instead of Google search engine for all US users. Firefox also claims that in other parts of World, users might experience another search engine instead of default google search engine.
According to official announcement, Mozilla Firefox 34 Browser comes with improved search bar along with addition of Firefox Hello real-time communication client. The default search engine of Firefox is now changed to Yandex for Belarusian, Kazakh and Russian locales. You can also easily switch themes/personas directly in the Customizing mode.
The Wikipedia search feature of this release now uses HTTPS for secure searching but this is only applicable for en-US browsers only. The implementation of HTTP/2 and ALPAN is also done in this release. Some of the changes which are made in this release includes disbaled SSLv3, firefox signed by Apple OS X version 2 signature and proprietary window.crypto properties/functions re-enabled.
As you know that since from previous few versions, Firefox is trying to include HTML5 concepts in it. Like earlier, this release also includes HTML5 concepts such as implemented ECMAScript 6 WeakSet and implemented JavaScript Template Strings. The Webcrypto feature receives support for RSA-OAEP, PBKDF2 and AES-KW along with implemented wrapKey and unwrapKey.
The Firefox 34 also comes with features designed specially for developers like introduction of WebIDE which allows you to create, edit and test new Web application from your browser along with improved user interface of profiler. At last, it includes fixes like CSS trasitions start correctly when started at the same time as changes to display, position, overflow and similar properties along with several security fixes.
