FFmpeg 2.5.1 "Bohr" released with Updated Libraries & Minor Bugfixes

FFmpeg developers officially announces the release of FFmpeg 2.5.1 codenamed "Bohr" with new and updated packages. Well this is the first update under 2.5.x branch which primarily includes new features like AVFoundation screen-grabbing support, animated WebP decoding support and Animated PNG support. Aart from this, it also includes video streaming support including MPEG-DASH fragmenting muxer, HEVC RTP payload muxer and UDP Lite support.

According to official announcement, FFmpeg 2.5.1 comes with updated library packages such as libavutil 54.15.100, libavcodec 56.13.100, libavformat 56.15.102, libavdevice 56.3.100, libavfilter 5.2.103, libavresample 2.1.0, libswscale 3.1.101, libswresample 1.1.100 and libpostproc 53.3.100. The avpriv_dv_frame_profile2() is also deprecated from API in this release. You can also download the source tarball of FFmpeg 2.5.1 to compile it on your Linux machine.

Among other new changes, FFmpeg 2.5.1 "Bohr" includes -show_pixel_formats option in ffprobe, codec private options support in ffserver, xBR scaling filter in libavfilter, CAST128 symmetric block cipher, ECB mode in libavutil and visualization support in libpostproc.
