Canonical announces Updated OpenJDK 7 with Fixed Issues for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Canonical officially announces the release of updated OpenJDK 7 in Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" repository. Earlier, Ubuntu maintainer found some of the vulnerabilities related with OpenJDK which they have fixed in this updated release and this is also available in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" repository.
According to official announcement, OpenJDK 7 finally arrives in Ubuntu repository and now available for Trusty Tahr. This release is updated with fixed security issues which earlier affects Ubuntu and derivatives. This update provides stability updates for OpenJDK 7 which is the software implementation of Java and its libraries.
This fixed vulnerabilities in OpenJDK 7 provides stability fixes for arm64 and ppc64el architectures. Well earlier lot of vulnerabilities were discovered in OpenJDK GRE related to information disclosure, data integrity and availability. An attacker could easily exploit these to cause a denial of service or express sensitive data over the network.
Apart from this, two vulnerabbilities were disclosed in the OpenJDK JRE related to data integrity along with one vulnerability related to availability which allows an attacker to exploit to cause a denial of service. You might also like to check out other latest Software News on our website.
